The
modern Renault Espace was introduced in 1991 and is Renaults
second generation of the first people carrier.
The Espace was designed to give maximum space for larger families,
they can hold 7 people plus a decent amount of luggage.
The dashboard is simple with most of the switches and controls
hidden away giving the car a more refined look. The seats
are individual, making long distances a lot more comfortable,
however the rear two seats are restricted in legroom which
makes them better suited to children. Because of the seats
being seperate they can all be removed, or folded down.
Renault certainly have thought of everything when designing
this car, they have swivelling front seats so you can face
the children in the back. The Espace also has electric mirrors,
cruise control, headlamp washers and roof bars. Considering
its size, the Renault Espace can be significantly agile with
a good grip on the road, however because of its capacity it
can be quite difficult to park.
Owning a Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) means you, your children,
your pet dog, your suitcases, your shopping, your new dining
room table, your grandmother, your grandmother's pet budgie
even your kitchen sink can be ferried around.
Renault's
expert field is safety and this is certainly shown in this
10year old people carrier, it has the safest body in its class
and consists of driver, passenger and side airbags. The Renault
Espace comes in 2.0, 2.2 and 3.0 litre engines. All models
have power steering, ABS, airbags, traction, remote central
locking, alarm, immobilisers and aircon.
