The
A3 was introduced in 2000 and is based on the VW Golf platform,
it also shares many of the same high quality engines. It has
the most inviting apperance, the more steroid pumped versions
handle and perform well setting a high standard for the competition.
This car isn't the most spaceous of them all but it is still
a pleasure to drive. Where the A3 scores highest is in in its
core market; Compact cars. The Audi A3 is designed to park comfortably
in places that other cars would simply cringe at, it is designed
to dash around the city streets from the school run to supermarket
quickly and economically.
Well built with high safety standards
good handling and a sporty feel all A3's are available as 3
and 5 door hatchbacks, in front wheel or 4 wheel drive. Revised
in 2003 the engines used in the A3 are the 1.6ltr 102bhp or
115bhp, 2.0ltr 150bhp, 3.2ltr 250 bhp petrol and 1.9ltr Turbo
100bhp, 2.0ltr Turbo 140bhp diesel. All varients have power
steering, ABS brakes, traction control, airbags, remote central
locking, alarmed, immobilisers and with the exception of the
entry models all have air conditioning.
